Ascent with the Hornbahn I and the Horngipfelbahn
After the impressive scenery and views from the Horn summit cable car, you can enjoy the 360° panorama on the Horngipfel, which is unique in the Alps.
From the summit house you have two possibilities to get to the entrance of the Alpine Flower Garden. You can walk comfortably downhill on the asphalt road. Or take the old Hornweg across pastures to reach the entrance of the Alpine Flower Garden.
Tip: With children we recommend the "Kids Climbing Trail" Hike along the old Hornweg past the eagle station over the hanging ridge to the eagle's nest and the marmot garden. After a short time you will reach the entrance of the Alpine Flower Garden. Anyone who has experienced the Alpine Flower Garden with the splendour of the Alpine rose blossom in summer will find many ideas for coming back here. It is quite simply the impressive flower experiences that await you from spring to autumn. Botanical specialities from all over the world are also at home in this unique garden today. This is the work of the Hofer family, who have been entrusted with the care of this magnificent alpine landscape since 1985. Rare plants from the Caucasus, the Andes, the Pyrenees or the Himalayas have been settled here by the Hofer family. The garden is embedded in the turf between natural rock structures, which have been removed and converted especially for this purpose. Two artificial ponds complete the picture. Flowering time May - October. Discover/admire new flower splendour at any time of the year. For up-to-date information on what is currently blooming in the Alpine Flower Garden, please contact the valley station of the Kitzbühel Hornbahnen.
Tip for children - after the hike through the Alpine Flower Garden, the children can let off steam at the playground at the Alpenhaus.
